Privacy policy
We collect as little as possible. This page explains what happens to data when you use this site.
Who we are
StratfordUponAvon.com is an independent travel guide to Stratford-upon-Avon, England. You can contact us at any time using the email address on our contact page.
What we collect
This site is a static website. We do not ask you to create an account, we do not run a newsletter sign-up, and we do not operate contact forms that store your details. If you email us, we hold that email in order to reply to you and for no other purpose.
Cookies and local storage
We use your browser’s local storage to remember which language you chose, so that the site opens in that language next time. This stays on your own device, is not transmitted to us and can be cleared at any time from your browser settings.
Third-party services embedded on the site — the GetYourGuide booking widget and its analytics script — may set their own cookies. These are governed by GetYourGuide’s privacy policy.
Third-party services
GetYourGuide: booking widgets and affiliate links. When you follow a link or interact with a widget, GetYourGuide receives a referral identifier so that a resulting booking can be attributed to this site. We never see your personal or payment details.
Trip.com: accommodation links. The same principle applies — a referral identifier is passed, and your booking, personal data and payment are handled entirely by Trip.com.
Google Fonts: the site loads two typefaces from Google’s font service, which receives your IP address as part of that request.
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and diagnostics.
Analytics
We do not run our own analytics or advertising tracking on this site. The only third-party measurement script present is GetYourGuide’s partner analytics, which measures traffic and conversions on affiliate links.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR you have the right to access, correct and erase personal data we hold about you, to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because we hold almost nothing, in practice this means any email correspondence you have sent us. Email us and we will act on any such request promptly.
Children
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page. Material changes will be noted at the top of the page.
